What is the description of Tetracaine hydrochloride?

Tetracaine HCl is an effective local anesthetic and an allosteric inhibitor of channel function. Objective: Calcium channel Tetracaine hydrochloride is an inhibitor of the calcium channel protein and blocks the voltage-dependent release of Ca2+ from the sarcoplasmic reticulum. Tetracaine is a strong local anesthetic of the ester group. It is mainly used topically in ophthalmology and as an antipruritic and has been used in spinal anesthesia. Tetracaine is used to alter the function of calcium release channels (ryanodine receptors) that control the release of calcium from intracellular stores. Tetracaine is an allosteric channel blocker. At low concentrations tetracaine initially inhibits spontaneous calcium release events, while at high concentrations tetracaine blocks are completely released.

Both chemicals are with primary aromatic amino groups or potential primary aromatic amino groups in the molecular structure can undergo diazotization reaction, and the resulting diazonium salts can be coupled with basic β-naphthol to form colored azo dyes. Benzocaine, procaine hydrochloride and procainamide hydrochloride (in hydrochloric acid solution) + sodium nitrite undergo diazotization reaction; aromatic secondary amine in Tetracaine hydrochloride structure reacts with nitrous acid in acidic solution Sodium reacts to produce milky white n-nitroso compound precipitation (which can be distinguished from similar drugs with aromatic primary amino groups).
